OpenView Counselling

MY APPROACH

I work with a person centred approach, which is based on the relationship between the client and the counsellor.  I have no stake in your decisions or fixed opinions on how you should lead your life and I will remain non-judgemental, empathic and genuine at all times.

In our sessions you will find a space to talk openly, giving you the opportunity to express any thoughts, feelings or fears and I offer you a promise that I will work with you and assist you in exploring and understanding those issues, helping you to become more aware of your own coping abilities which in time will give you the confidence to deal with both present and future situations or minimise their effect, allowing you to live a more satisfying life.

I comply with the ethics of my profession but do not allow it to harness or detract from who I am, I am as unique in the counselling situation as you are in your life and whilst I offer you my qualifications and experience as a benchmark for your choice of an ethical therapist, I also offer myself, my passion for counselling and my belief in how it can help you to make changes or come to terms with situations in your life and if you are ready and willing to work with me our alliance will be a success.

I do not see a ‘typical’ client, each person is unique, you can talk about anything in counselling and below are just a few of the issues clients bring:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationship problems
  • Self esteem
  • Life choices
  • Sexuality
  • Work/career
  • Divorce and separation
  • Loss/bereavement
  • Addictions

Some of the benefits of counselling:

  • Understand the repeated patterns formed throughout your life
  • Build self esteem, confidence and increased motivation
  • Feel happier and less stressed
  • More self-awareness
  • Accept choices you make and learn to value yourself
  • Choose your own pathway with a renewed sense of purpose
